Is it a short crossover? A tall wagon? A lifted hatchback?

The world may never know

Kinja'd!!!

At 61.9” tall, it’s 4 inches taller than the 2008 G35, but 4 inches lower than the 2008 CRV

I don’t know but it’s what my wife drives. She  preferred her G37 but that got totaled.

It’s a Subaru Crosstrek made out of an Infiniti G instead of an Impreza.

How’s it been? In a surprising turn of events my mom and I are both thinking about the EX

I'd say it ’s a faster cheaper more reliable BMW X3

Its a big G35. Meant for those that wants a sporty suv, but not the larger fx . If you do get one be careful of the exhaust cam retarders. Known failure point at 80- 100k miles and they are expensive.

It’s been solid so far. Not as sporty as the G37 but it’s a good compromise between sporty and practical.

I drove one and found it surprisingly comfortable on Illinois roads but also not completely neutered. I definitely prefer driving the G35/37 though

I kind of like the idea of these ... I hear they’re thirsty. how’s the mileage?

I remember seeing these at the auto show right when they came out. My wife and I thought, oh great they took a G35 and made it less usable by eliminating the trunk. Seriously, these are basically a tall g35 without a usable trunk.  We both looked at each other and said who would want this over the sedan....  looking through the comments, I guess a few folks would....  who knew?  Nissan, that’s who.  They were ahead of the small crossover/SUV curve.  Back when only the Japanese makers offered them.

X3 35i will roast this, and you can tune it like any other N55.

I’d argue that it’s more practical than the G35. The hatch is much larger than a trunk opening, the amount of actual cargo space is similar, but slightly larger on the EX, but the biggest benefit is that you can fold the seats down.

I don’t know for sure since I’m very rarely in it but I think my wife averages somewhere around 18 or 19 mpg. Of course it prefers premium so there’s that.

I would call it a lifted G37 hatchback. It is to the G37 as the AMC Eagle Kammback was to the AMC Concord.

Good points.  Yeah, some of the trunk openings are pretty piss poor in sedans.  I remember our STS was like that, big trunk, but itty bitty opening.  Forgot all about food down seats too.  We were looking at family haulers so more than likely need the seats up anyway, but for those that don’t, that is a bunch of space.

For a family hauler? EX is too small, that’s for sure. But if it’s just one or two people who need extra space on a trip or want to make an IKEA run, it’d be good.

Out of curiosity, what’d you end up getting instead?

We started with an 07 Q7 and loved it.  Drove like a tall sports car, then before baby 3 we bought a Pacifica.  Now we 4 kiddos, so we definitely use the extra space.

Probably a smart choice to get the Pacifica but I’m sure it was tough getting rid of the Q7

It was tough. We hung onto it for a few months, but once we found we weren’t driving it much, we sold it off. Very nice ride and for me into the VAG fold. I had a 12 S4 6MT and then upsized to my current 09 S8.  I really like the Audi’s for daily driver duty and life in the snow belt.  The Pacifica is a great hauler though.  We’ve had it loaded with 8 passengers and all our luggage more than a half dozen times and it just works great.  I wish Audi made a minivan though.  I’d be all over it.
